Statement
My photographs are moments of intimacy and tension. I portray beings in physical and emotional transition. I capture glances, images glimpsed from the corner of the eye, in an attempt to capture the uncertainty and dazzling impermanence of everyday occurrences.
Bio
Lucas Thorpe was born and raised in New York City. He was a professional sailor and attended Maine Maritime Academy before shifting his interest to Art and completing a BFA in Studio Art from the University of New Mexico. Lucas completed an MFA in Photography, Video and Related Media at The School of Visual Arts in 2008. He lives in New York City with his wife the writer Nancy Rawlinson.
